Match Results

Match Results

The Association are still experiencing some problems with the Comet system especially on the recording of match results.

We are now asking all teams in the SERYFA leagues to send an email on the conclusion of the match highlighting the age group, the two participating teams and more importantly the match result.

Emails should be sent to Allan Archibald, the Association Secretary –

Maximum Recorded Score

Maximum Recorded Score

Clubs are reminded on the maximum recorded score policy of the SYFA.

Where the final score for either participating team exceeds nine, the recorded result as supplied by the referee will be amended to nine. So, for example if the final score is 14 – 0, the match records will be amended by the Association to read 9 – 0.

Clubs who use social media to advise match scores should adhere to the same policy. Do not exceed NINE.

Ian Mackay

Ian Mackay

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ian Mackay.

Ian was a sports reporter with the Edinburgh Evening News and in the 2010s it was he who introduced a page called 'Local Heroes'. Prior to that coverage of minor events had been very spasmodic with, for example , results of youth and amateur football matches appearing one week but not the next and so on. This lack of continuity meant that the reader was left in limbo as to how matters were progressing.
